Research has shown that patients who perform exercises at home for their particular issues respond quicker, and do better clinically, than those who do not. We recommend exercise plans that are personalized to our patients’ needs as part of their care plan.

How Does It Work?

Once you’ve been seen at Shore Chiropractic, your doctor evaluates the areas which would benefit from additional exercise and stretches. He will create an exercise plan customized to provide you with the most benefit. Unlike preprinted instruction sheets, your plan is unique to you, so the areas that need more work receive it.

Your plan might include stretching your neck more to one side than the other based on the misalignment evidenced in your X-rays. We choose the exercises we feel are most beneficial, and provide exact instructions on how to do them.

We will go over the plan protocols with you and demonstrate the proper method to perform them. We’ll answer any questions you might have about your exercises before you leave. On the next visit, we’ll ask how things went, and if there were any problems, or things that need to be changed.

Exercise plans are assigned within the first two weeks of care, after the patient’s issues have calmed down, and are less acute. We usually plan to do some level of exercise for at least 3 to 4 weeks and then evaluate for progress.

Our doctors create plans that are short and manageable enough to complete at home.
